For more than two decades, Kelly Coghlan has led an effort in the courts, legislatures, and school boards to protect school children's rights to express religious viewpoints on permissible subjects when secular and other viewpoints are permitted on the same subjects. In June, 2007, Texas became the first state to adopt the School Children's Religious Liberties Act, authored by Kelly Coghlan, giving equal protection, equal treatment, and equal opportunity to students of faith.
